About
Shelby is a poet, essayist, and emerging educator. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Chatham University, where she received the award of “Best Thesis in Poetry” for her manuscript rage is a butcher. Her work explores chronic illness, trauma, violence, and feminine rage.
Shelby is a trained singer and actor, who also holds a B.A. in English from Clarion University. Her passion for the written word and music combine in her work as a songwriter. You can listen to her song, “Rent Free,” on all music streaming platforms. Shelby’s poems have been published in the Second Coming poem-a-day series on Substack and the Tobeco Literary & Arts Journal during her undergraduate studies at Clarion University. When she’s not writing, you can find her painting her nails.
